The explosive season finally came to an end this week. No Gallagher was left untouched as they all got scenes that set things up for their individual storylines for season 5.
Frank looks like he's reacting to the shocking ending to season 4.

This week was all about the gay characters Ian and Mickey, and I loved it! Noel Fisher, who plays Mickey Milkovich, was amazing in this episode. So, let's start!
Ian and Mickey
The show really played with fan feelings when they sent Ian to the Army and didn't confirm his return. However, all my worries were laid to rest when he ...Read Full Post »

Fiona can only go up
Last week's episode ended with Fiona crying in front of Robbie, and I knew it wasn't going to end well for her. In true “Shameless” style Fiona goes from bad to worse, spending the night with Robbie and his friends. She violates her parole and gets left behind as her new friends drive towards Wisconsin. I think Fiona has really hit rock b...Read Full Post »

The writers really know how to give “Shameless” viewers scenes that tug at the heartstrings and make them yell out in disbelief in the same episode. Debbie and Carl went on their little adventures this week, Fiona continued to face hardships, and I still can't make sense of what's happening with Ian and Mickey. And Sheila came back!
Fiona still in trouble ...Read Full Post »

And here we are, the end of season one. I need some redemption for these guys. Well, honestly, I don’t care if they redeem Agustin. I’ve resigned myself to being eternally annoyed by that particular egotistical man-child, but the other two have a lot of likeable qualities, and if I’m going to hold onto this show then I need to see those from time to time. Let’s see what this episode gives us. ...Read Full Post »

There was no “Shameless” last week and I can't even begin to explain how I managed. Anyway, the Gallaghers came back this week and it was an awesome episode.
Lip and Fiona
The tension between the siblings has been a focus throughout the season. Fiona is trying to make up for what she did to Liam the best she can. How...Read Full Post »

I have helped out with editing on this site, especially with the history articles, since it began. Dennis has always known that I’m passionate about “Glee,” and so he asked me to participate in the recent “Glee Roundtable” discussion. And he recently came up with another question for me.
First, a few words about my viewpoint on “Glee” a...Read Full Post »

(Editor's note: The recap was delayed this week because Lane has been busy with his grad school midterms. I'm happy to know he's smart enough to realize that they are more important!)
We open on the three guys in the backyard set (though honestly I don’t know whose backyard this is supposed to be), and Agustin is showing his photos, looking for some input. Patrick and Dom...Read Full Post »

Things we learned from Sunday: Jared Leto has a beautiful face as well as a beautiful soul, and cares deeply about all sorts of people from AIDS victims to Ukranians. (Trans activists are apparently still mad that he didn’t single them out specifically in his speech, but there you are.) In contrast, Matthew McConaughey apparently cares deeply about…Matthew McConaughey. A good bunch of winners nonetheless, though L...Read Full Post »

Question: Ignore the ships and gay content merely speculated about by fans. Based on what's on the screen, what do you think of the gay content in "Teen Wolf?" What are your thoughts about Danny?
John: I'm currently three episodes behind so I may be wildly out of date. "Teen Wolf" has more gay content than 99% of every other show on TV, which is a good thing, but there is always room for more. Da...Read Full Post »

It was with some trepidation that I received the news that my mother had booked a Caribbean cruise for my brother and me as a Christmas present. I know, how ungrateful was I, balking at the idea of spending close to two weeks in the tropics during the dead of winter? But I was worried that there wouldn't be enough to do on the ship to keep me from being bored, and I was particularly worried about being trapped on a ship with 1...Read Full Post »

Last week we had a Patrick/Richie centered episode. This week we get to catch up with the rest of the guys. We open on Patrick talking to Richie about introducing him to his friends. Patrick is obsessively telling Richie about his friends and what to expect (during which we get the second mention that Patrick and Dom met through a hook-up, though much more explicitly this time). Richie says, “if you̵...Read Full Post »

A lot happened in this episode. That's what I'm liking about the season. None of the episodes have felt like filler, and the plot keeps moving. So, let's get to it.

For God’s sake, people, stay away from Uganda, despite its being the backdrop for “The Book of Mormon.” Massive anti-gay legislation was signed there this past week that could lead to imprisonment, torture, night raids, and all sorts of other nasty things. Give your tourism dollars to South Africa, which was ahead of the curve on gay rights decades ago as part of their dismantling of the apartheid system. ...Read Full Post »

Apparently the night of dancing from the previous episode ended well for Patrick, because at the start of the episode he wakes up next to Richie, This is apparently not a new thing, however; they’ve been shacking up for a little bit now. I like these two together and I’m enjoying their storyline so far, but I’m unclear on something. When Richie first met Patrick he thought he was a doctor named, well,...Read Full Post »

Things kind of settled down in this week’s episode. We saw the Gallagher clan retrenching and trying to decide what to do after the traumatic events that have recently happened to them.
All about Lip and Fiona
Almost all of the episode was about those two, and rightfully so. Fiona and Lip are the oldest, and are responsib...Read Full Post »

I found my elementary school photo album a year or so ago when cleaning out my dad’s house, and I wound up taking a very enjoyable stroll down memory lane. Though about half of the names from my kindergarten class had receded into the mists of time, I was surprised and pleased to see how many kids I still recalled from the Richard Nixon era. There was Brian, and Bryan (they were separate people), Mike, Jeannie, Tracy, R...Read Full Post »

Queerbaiting: When a television show (or possibly a movie) inserts gay subtext between characters in order to generate interest and viewership among gay or liberal viewers, even though there is no intention that a genuine gay relationship ever develops. It’s often seen as a manipulative ploy.
Question: Some viewers have accused Teen Wolf of engaging in queerbaiting, especially with the Stiles and Derek r...Read Full Post »
